Happy Monday, everyone,

As we welcome not only a new week but a new month, I am delighted to invite all of you to watch the first conversation in a planned yearlong series. My conversational partner here is Dr. Marcela Henao-Tamayo, an assistant professor in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and the Director of the Flow Cytometry Center. I sat down with Dr. Henao-Tamayo last month and I urge all of you to take a few minutes to get to know her as well, through our conversation. I guarantee you will come away impressed, inspired, and energized by her story, her work, her commitment to our students, and her hopes for what CSU can offer the world. Again, here’s the link to our conversation.

We’re calling this year’s Presidential conversation series “Tell Me More” because that phrase really captures the goal and the spirit of these events. I find that time and time again here at CSU I meet someone and within a few moments I realize that I could spend hours learning more about what they do, why they do it, and why CSU means so much to them. So we’ve tried to capture that experience that I have so often in just a few key conversations, focused on themes and issues that really are at the core of who we are: research, equity, student success, engagement, and sustainability.

You can learn more about the whole series on my website and in the SOURCE story that appeared last week. Each recorded conversation will remain available once it has posted, so you can watch whenever you want—or watch again!

For now, please do check out my conversation with Dr. Henao-Tamayo. I am so excited for all of you to share the thrill that I experienced in digging deeper with this incredible member of our CSU community.

Warmly,

Joyce
