Dear Colleagues,

In recent weeks, the resurgent COVID-19 pandemic has been posing new and difficult challenges, here in Colorado and in communities across our country. But Colorado State University, with its long history of infectious disease research and response, continues to be part of the leading edge in addressing those challenges and seeking solutions. We are uniquely prepared, with a clarity of purpose and a determination to succeed.

Here are highlights of the important ways CSU researchers and centers have been able to quickly pivot in response to the initial impacts of this unprecedented public health crisis, and how, together, they continue to apply their expertise in ways that confront the emerging challenges head on.

Thanks to CSU Vice President for Research Alan Rudolph; Nicole Ehrhart, director of CSU’s Columbine Health Systems Center for Healthy Aging; Raymond Goodrich, director of CSU’s Infectious Disease Research Center; and Bryan Willson, executive director of the Energy Institute, for sharing these powerful stories.

The commitment and hard work of CSU researchers give me confidence that, together, we will continue to create real-life solutions to whatever challenges come our way, and that our communities will emerge from these difficult times stronger than ever. I am grateful to the teamwork and tenacity of our CSU community.

Warmly,

Joyce
